Content Marketing Trends To Look Out For In 2017

As 2016 draws to a close and we hang the tinsel on the tree, it’s a good moment to reflect upon what’s in store for the year ahead. For businesses wanting to take things to the next level, one thing is certain: to run a successful marketing campaign it’s vital to have a clear online marketing strategy in place.  We take a look at upcoming trends for 2017:

Keep producing and updating content.

This is still one of the most important ways to raise awareness and visibility of your website and services.  However, it is crucial that you produce quality content and that you get creative with the way you present your content. It should also engage readers and drive them to perform an action, whether its to get in contact, subscribe, share or simply keep coming back to your website for more information.

Get creative.

While a large percentage of content marketing has, up until now, been about consistently writing high quality and relevant content in the form of blog posts, news articles, ebooks and other types of sharable materials, fierce competition online means that companies will need to become more innovative about the way they communicate their services.

As search engines are becoming wiser at reading and evaluating images, it is predicted that in 2017, the creation of visual content, enhanced by written content will develop into a powerful marketing tool for both increasing visibility and standing out from the crowd. Written content will become more condensed, meaning companies can advertise their brand in short sweet phrases and visually compelling images.

Video killed the content marketing star

Actually that’s not true, it complements it. But why is video suddenly so key nowadays?  It’s proven that videos bring in a high ROI, and companies have cottoned onto this. Social media platforms such as Facebook are a classic example where videos are widely viewed and shared, improving SEO all round. Make sure you have the right captions to optimise viewings by making it accessible to a wider audience.

Influencer marketing

Influencer marketing fuses the art of content marketing with social media, using recommendations and experiences documented by real people who share their experiences of a particular brand, product or service on a social media platform. Its audience is specific, and by working with influencers you can make sure they transmit your brand to your chosen market.

So while content marketing is becoming more of a challenge, 2017 is going to be an interesting year. Did we miss anything?  Let us know by commenting below. If you want to know how our content marketing can help your business grow get in touch today:
